Turn on your well-being – Get the new Withings app

Since 2009, we’ve been working to invent, shape and produce smart connected devices that help you easily take care of your health and well-being.

During that time, we spent many hours thinking on how we could help people reach a healthier lifestyle, how we could simplify the way you can monitor and improve your well-being in your everyday life.

To fulfill this promise, we’re pleased to introduce you today to our new app – your new Personal Health Companion if you’d like.

The Withings Health Companion app doesn’t simply store your health data. It makes you care about it.

Free and designed for everyone

We learned three essential facts since we started working on connected health devices:

1. Knowing where you stand is a huge step towards getting where you want to be.

2. Monitoring your health data shouldn’t be painful or require extra time.

3. Achieving a healthy lifestyle should be made accessible to anyone.

We applied these lessons to build an app that is free and can be used by anyone who wants to lose a few pounds, exercise more, keep an eye on their BP or sleep better. It lets you enter your health data manually or upload it automatically from a wide range of partner devices and apps, including:

  • The Withings smart scale
  • The Withings blood pressure monitor
  • The free RunKeeper App
  • The BodyMedia FIT armbands
  • The Zeo headband

The state of your health – in a snapshot

This app is designed to become the hub for your health data over time. It gives you a snapshot of the state of your health through 4 key variables including: your weight, amount of sleep, level of activity and blood pressure.

The Withings Health Companion is like an old friend, always here when you need them, keeping track of your data and turning “cold” numbers into easy to understand curves, smoothing graphs into one trend line, ignoring the highest and lowest readings and preventing any potential emotional roller-coaster.

An everyday companion

We wanted the Withings Health Companion to help you set and achieve your own goals and then leave it down to you.

You’ll witness first-hand how the decisions you make – such as going for a run or eating healthier – pay out and while impact your general condition. Small lifestyle changes can yield significant benefits in the long term.

At the same time, the Withings Health Companion is here to help you along the way, turning your long terms goals into achievable targets, so that each time you weigh-in, go for a run, track your BP or track your sleep, it gives you a motivational tip to help you reach your ideal weight, meet the 150 minutes of recommended weekly activity or the 7 hours of sleep per day.

We’ve turned this companion into a butterfly that evolves over time, light enough to move on when it’s time and friendly enough to be taken for a ride.

So what are you waiting for? Get the app now – we’d love to have your feedback.

Awesome. I like it a lot and it really presents the data in way that I missed for some time. Is this coming to iPad as well?

    Amazing.
    Colourful, detailed, helpful.

You can tell a lot of thought has gone into this App, so congratulations.

Allow me to find another avenue to flood your with subtle hints to include FitBit and LARK, or at least allow us to manually enter sleep data — please.

Loving the new app! When will the iPad version be available? 2x mode doesn’t do your great
    design justice.

Looks a lot better. The lack of an iPad update is quite disappointing though.

Any chance this app will integrate with Fitbit or Motoactv?

  • John Carter

  • peter

endomondo integration (being big in berlin) and manual sleep tracking (i am still not at the point where i could explain this to my spouse) would make this work for me… otherwise i’m all over it.

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Thank you Peter for this feedback!

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Steve! We are looking into all potential integrations. The problem is that each one necessitates long development hours. And we are also dependent on the provision of the tools to build the “bridges”. But rest assured, more will come in the future. We thank you for your patience.

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Bill! Our partnership with Lose t! is one of our longest running

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Chingo! Thank you for your feedback.

  • Sebastian

Please integrate fitbit in your app. Will you?

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Sebastian! We’re still considering all opportunities. Thank you for your suggestion and your patience.

  • Soo Kim Lem

Any plans to permit manual entering of workouts on the app? I work out indoors and use a FitBit, so it appears that nothing I do is recognized by the app. I understand designing around category exclusivity (i.e. to incorporate only 1 tracker), but it seems extremely short sighted not to permit manual entering of activities. The app has been out for months now, and I was surprised that this still was not a feature.

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Soo Kim Lem! Thank you for your suggestion. The Health Companion app will evolve in the future and we will consider this, but we can’t commit to any dates for the moment. Thank you for your patience.

  • Nico

    Any update?

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Nico! Its development has been pushed back a little bit. Sorry about hat. Thank you for your understanding.

  • http://www.facebook.com/geo.jet Geo Jet

Still waiting for Godot on the fitbit activity integration. Without it, your app is only 3/4 useful. Fitbit now integrates the Withings scale for weight. Why not the reciprocal for the fitbit into Withings?

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Geo! Sorry for the wait. We’ve just released 2 new devices, including the Smart Activity Tracker: http://www.withings.com/en Thank you for your suggestions – we’re still considering all potential integrations and partnerships. Thank you for your patience.

  • http://www.joyfax.com/ Annylu

Thanks, This is a good article

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

    Thank you Annylu :) !

  • http://evergizmo.com Naoki Shibuya

Pls integrate the Sleep Time app. Or let me enter sleep time manually. Thanks!

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Naoki! Thanks for your suggestion! I’ll forward it to the product manager.

  • Alex Hass

    Please???

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi alex! Thanks for your interest! We’re still working on it, and recruiting more developers to make it happen ASAP. Thank you for your understanding.

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Sibila! Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately we can’t commit to any dates concerning this integration, but have you heard about our upcoming Activity Tracker? http://www.withings.com/en/activitytracker/keepmeinformed Submit your email on this page to get notified of its availability in your region. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Anonymous

While manual sleep tracking will work, and it will help, I’m really hoping for integration to the Lark sleep bands (I think they have an everyday band now too).

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi TexanPatriot! Thank you for your suggestion! Did you see the activity tracker that is coming out soon? http://www.withings.com/en/activitytracker/keepmeinformed

  • Nico

Any news on the iPad app? Actually, it is really a pitty that the iPad app took you so long…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Theresa-Frasch/1385303068 Theresa Frasch

Any chance of manual input for those of us who have other activity trackers? Any idea when the Withings activity tracker is being released?

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Nico! We’re doing our best to come out with the iPad app ASAP. Thank you for your understanding.

  • http://blog.withings.com/ Withings

Hi Theresa! We are still considering all potential integrations and can’t commit to any dates for the moment. As for our activity tracker, it will be out by the summer ;) Thank you for your patience.
