Play with your weight on Facebook!

You’ve all been longing for it and today is the day! Yes, today, the Withings Facebook app is finally available for everyone to use! If you’re eager to try it out, follow this link and check it out! You can read the rest of this post later. Come on, Go! Go! Go!

Now that the impatient ones are gone, let me tell you a little bit more about our Facebook application. Its name is “Guess My weight”. This idea all began as joke among the Withings’ team. Then, we soon realized it would actually be pretty cool to play with ones’ weight. Taking the complexity and drama away.

As explained in a previous article, this application has several purposes. First, you can monitor your weight and watch your graphs in one click.

However, the true innovation about Guess My Weight is that you can get your friends involved in your weight management. As a matter of fact, every time you weigh in, your friends can bet on the evolution of your graph. Will it go Up or will it go Down? Will you keep up your resolutions or will you crack? Therefore, your weight objectives become a game for them and you will benefit from their support and advice. You will no longer be alone, struggling to attempt your goal. All your friends will follow you in this adventure and check out your efforts with interest.

To try Guess My Weight, connect on Facebook and install it. If you have a Withings scale, you can synchronize it from the “Settings” tab. If you don’t have a scale, you have the possibility to create your own monitoring graph and to complete it manually—NO CHEATING!

Last but not least, I wanted to thank our beta testers who helped us to improve Guess My Weight. And don’t hesitate to tell us what you think of it!

The button "Invite your friends" under "Friends" does nothing for me. I am using the latest beta of Chrome on a Mac.

  • Jeanne

    @Xanadu2000 That's weird :(
We checked it out and it works for us. Could you send us an email at so that we can figure it out?

  • Andy

So the invite friends button is only to invite friends that have registered at Withings?

  • Jeanne

No, you can invite all your friends, even if they don't have a Withings scale.

iPad app, Facebook app, white edition….. WHEN is the Android app coming out? Androids are outselling iPhones, or aren't you aware of that?

  • Jeanne

A beta version of our Android app will be ready at the end of the week

  • Marina

I'm really not crazy about this app. I had a bit of trouble figuring it out so I can't expect my (less technical or less patient) friends to use it. I also really am not interested in playing a game where my friends bet on my weight. No one would ever bet that I would gain weight so it seems kind of pointless (though funny, I admit). Sorry to be negative, but I tried the app twice … and was diappointed.

    What I *would* like is:
    1. The ability to share my graph or a snapshot of it without my absolute weight.
    2. The ability to customize what is posted to twitter. If not customize then please add: Did I lose or gain weight from last week? How much weight did I lose/gain? It would be nice to turn off the abolute weight here too.

  • Jeanne

    Marina, thanks for the feedback.
Your wish has been granted :)
From now on, each week your weight delta will be automatically notified directly on your profile!

  • Marina

OK, thanks much both for the answer and for the new functionality. I will try the app again :-)

  • Roy

When I click on Invite Friends, it says no friends are registered on Facebook?
    Any ideas?
Maybe I have no friends after all :>

  • Jeanne

@Roy Sorry the sentence is badly translated. It means that among your friends none of them have installed the GMW app.To enjoy the game, ask your Facebook friends to install it and start to bet!
