Faroe Island Swimmers Inspire Us to Slow Down, Get Outside & Make Friends

January 24, 2019

A short video featuring women who swim together in the North Atlantic sea is the cure for the common bummer. Watch and see.

well preserved faroe islandsSometimes, especially now, day-to-day news and winter blues can drag me down.
And then I saw a 3-minute video that I could watch all day. It’s just a film about a group of women, age 20 to 75, who swim together every day in the Faroe Islands, which I admit I had to Google. It’s north of Scotland, and southeast of Iceland. But this simple video floors me with simple wisdom and lessons that are unique and healthy. Check it out.

“We swim even if it’s snowing.” This video shows what we know, but don’t always practice… that for health and happiness, we need to:

  • Get outside
  • Make friends
  • Not worry about the perfect body
  • Not wait for perfect weather
  • Laugh
  • Drink coffee
  • Appreciate small things
  • Move more

And of course, if you look closely, there’s even a fluffy dog romping around in the sea.
